Valtteri Viktor Bottas (Finnish pronunciation: [ˈʋɑltːeɾi ˈbotːɑs]; born 28 August 1989) is a Finnish racing driver, who serves as a reserve driver in Formula One for Mercedes.

Dec 19, 2024 · Mercedes have announced that Valtteri Bottas will return to the team as a reserve driver for the 2025 season, after the Finn and Kick Sauber parted company following the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Bottas stepped it up a level in 2019, four victories securing a convincing second in the championship behind Hamilton, but that dropped to two wins to his team mate's 11 in 2020 and then just one in 2021, prompting Mercedes to drop him after five seasons.

Valtteri moved to Alfa Romeo for the start of 2022, and spent three seasons with the team that would rebrand as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber for 2024. He achieved a best result of P5 with the Swiss-based team at the 2022 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.
