Novak Djokovic added yet another record to his lengthy list, breaking a tie with Roger Federer for the most Grand Slam matches played in tennis history by reaching 430 on Wednesday at the Australian Open in what was a tougher-than-expected second-round victory.

Novak Djokovic played his 430 Grand Slam match when the Serbian defeated Portuguese Jaime Faria at the Australian Open 2025 second round in men’s singles. Roger Federer held the record previously with 429 matches.

The 37-year-old’s victory was his 430th match at a slam, taking him past the mark previously held by Roger Federer.
