Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley is building a strong connection with rookie quarterback Cam Ward. On Saturday, the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft connected multiple times with Ridley on deep passes during practice.
Cam Ward is a dawg and brings a new and desperately needed energy to a fledgling franchise that hasn’t had a personality for years. Ward practically dared the Titans not to use the first overall pick in the 2025 draft to make him the face of their faceless franchise.
Fans clamored for Cam Ward’s autograph as he worked his way along the wall at Nissan Stadium. The rookie quarterback put on a show Saturday even with no pads and no tackling allowed.
NFL Insider Ian Rapoport went to practice on Saturday at Nissan Stadium and came away impressed by what he watched.
The reins of the Titans offense were already likely in the hands of No. 1 pick Cam Ward when he was taken in the draft this spring, but that reality was confirmed earlier this week when it was announced that a Will Levis would undergo shoulder surgery that would sideline him for the 2025 season.
According to ESPN's Turron Davenport, Barton has three of Ward's four interceptions during training camp. Barton told reporters that he made today's interception after recognizing the offensive play, recalling that the Titans ran a similar pattern the previous day. Rather than retreating, Barton drifted into the passing lane and secured the catch.
