For the first time, a 14U Little League baseball team from Hilo has qualified for the prestigious Babe Ruth World Series in Hot Springs, Ark.

The county's notable natives, residents and frequent visitors include Founding Fathers, folk icons, sports greats and a Nobel Prize winner.
