South Korea’s impeached president, Yoon Suk Yeol, has been formally arrested, days after being apprehended at his presidential compound in Seoul.

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol went Saturday to testify before the court that must decide whether or not to extend the arrest of the deposed president, detained by the national anti-corruption bureau for his fleeting declaration of martial law.

Police arrested at least 17 of the attackers. The liberal opposition party accused the president of encouraging the attack.
