The NHTSA recently announced recalls for nearly 300,000 vehicles from automakers Mercedes, Audi, Genisis and more.

The recall impacts certain 2021-2023 models of the vehicles that are equipped with 2.0L Nu MPI engines supplied by Kia AutolandHwaseong. The piston oil rings can damage the surface of the cylinder wall.

The damage can make the engine stall or catch fire. The recall covers some 2021 to 2023 Seltos and Soul vehicles. Dealers will inspect the engine and if necessary, replace it. They will also install a piston-ring noise-sensing system.
