FLETCHER, N.C. (AP) — President Donald Trump said he was considering “getting rid of FEMA” as he visited hurricane-battered North Carolina on Friday during the first trip of his second term.

In the first official trip of his second term, Trump also threatened to withhold disaster aid to California unless the state enacts a voter ID law.

Trump and Newsom greeted one another on the tarmac at LAX on Friday as Trump plans to tour fire damaged areas of the state.
