Aston Villa and Arsenal kept the English flag flying when they reached the Champions League quarter-finals the day after Liverpool's exit. Marco Asensio's brace helped Villa beat 10-man Club Brugge 3-0 on the night and 6-1 overall and send them into a last-eight meeting with his parent club and Liverpool conquerors Paris Saint-Germain.

Villa have taken the lead and it’s the former Brentford man Ollie Watkins who has fired the visitors in front. The 29 year old receives the ball on the left hand side and cuts in to drive a well-struck deflected shot through Flekken’s legs to open the scoring.

Finishing amongst the top eight in the league phase and booking their spot to the quarterfinals makes this already dream season for Aston Villa in their return to the biggest Euro
