A second person has been charged in connection to a southern Indiana deputy being shot earlier this month. James Adams, 37, was in jail on unrelated charges when police determined he was connected to the shooting.

Adams, who was already incarcerated at the Scott County Jail on unrelated charges, has now also been charged with assisting a criminal and false informing. He's the second person arrested for allegedly helping Schepers.

A second person has been accused of helping a suspect wanted in the shooting of an Orange County deputy sheriff.

Sheriff Davy Henderson described deputy Zach Andry as a dedicated family man. After almost two weeks, the deputy still remains in critical condition.

Both directions of I-265 in New Albany, Indiana, were shut down for several hours Thursday morning due to a vehicle fire. According to INDOT, the vehicle fire happened on I-265 East at about 8:30 a.m.
