A Smith County resident has been selected to serve as the president of the Texas Republican County Chairmen’s Association (TRCCA). The TRCCA is made up of 254 Republican county chairs from across Texas.

The prospect of Eric Flores’ candidacy has excited Republicans in Texas and Washington, due in part to his military and law enforcement credentials.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Martin was arrested for disrupting a meeting, resisting arrest, and criminal trespass. Since the story broke, The Texas Tribune reports, Republican Representative Briscoe Cain, another prominent anti-abortion lawmaker in Texas’s House, called for Capriglione’s resignation, and urged the body’s Committee on General Investigating to probe the matter.

She alleged that the relationship turned sour after he began playing out his “foul” fantasies — while he worked to “erode away at women’s rights.”
