A federal judge says Planned Parenthood clinics nationwide must continue to be reimbursed for Medicaid funding.

In its lawsuit, Planned Parenthood had argued that they would be at risk of closing nearly 200 clinics in 24 states if they are cut off from Medicaid funds.

LA County lawmakers and health care advocates said they are “sounding the alarm” about efforts to end Medicaid reimbursements to abortion providers.

The lawsuit in Missouri state court accuses Planned Parenthood of violating a state law banning deceptive business practices. The state is seeking millions of dollars in penalties, including up to $1,000 for each woman in Missouri who has been provided abortion pills by Planned Parenthood over the last five years.
