A Kerrville-area river authority executed a contract for a flood warning system that would have been used to help with emergency response, local officials said.
As of the end of the day Tuesday, there were still five Camp Mystic campers and one counselor unaccounted for, with identification pending for 19 adults and seven children. Another child not associated with the camp is also missing.
The flooding created financial peril for many small businesses owners. Now they are cleaning up and working to get back on their feet.
As of 6:25 p.m. on Wednesday, 96 people — 60 adults and 36 children — are dead after Hill Country flooding, Kerr County officials said.
Texas Christian University is offering free trauma support for victims of the Central Texas flooding, which has killed at least 30 children. The support is offered through a fully online, self-guided course.
