An Indiana congressman is speaking out against a newly confirmed plan to utilize Camp Atterbury for the detention of undocumented immigrants. Democratic

Democrat U.S. Rep. André Carson demanded answers from federal officials in June about the potential use of the base for detentions. He said the use of Camp Atterbury for immigration purposes raises “serious questions” and flagged concerns about legal rights, humane treatment and national security.

A southern Indiana military base will be used to house detained immigrants. Congressman André Carson said he received information that the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency will use Camp Atterbury.
