The hierarchy at Dutch club Ajax has been left divided over Chelsea ’s €40m (£35m) bid for their defender Jorrel Hato, according to reports. Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with the 19-year-old Netherlands international – but they are yet to strike a deal with Ajax.

Jorrel Hato will be leaving Ajax to join English side Chelsea. The clubs have reached an agreement regarding a transfer sum of over 40 million euros, with various media outlets reporting that the fee can rise further due to bonuses.

Chelsea and Ajax have reached an agreement over the signing of Jorrel Hato for a fee in excess of €40million plus a sell-on clause, subject to approval from the Dutch club’s supervisory board. The 19-year-old Netherlands international has agreed a seven-year deal and will travel for a medical after approval has been given.
