BUENOS AIRES — Argentina's president has ordered the country's withdrawal from the World Health Organization due to “profound differences” with the U.N. agency, a presidential spokesperson said Wednesday.

Argentina will pull out of the World Health Organization (WHO), the presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni said on Wednesday, following President Donald Trump's executive order last month to pull the United States out of the global health group.

Argentina has declared it will withdraw from the World Health Organization, further imperilling an international agency charged with coordinating public health responses. The announcement on Wednesday echoes a similar move last month from the United States.
