A Tesla Cybertruck sank in Ventura, California, after its owner attempted a bold water adventure. Instead of floating, the truck went under, needing firefighter rescue. This incident raises doubts about Tesla’s claims of water resistance.

Fire crews in Ventura retrieved a submerged Tesla Cybertruck from the bottom of Ventura Harbor on Monday. The driver was attempting to launch a jet ski at the time of the accident. Elon Musk has previously claimed Tesla Cybertrucks could float and briefly function as a boat.

As sales for Tesla vehicles plummet around the globe, no one could’ve expected that one would actually end up underwater.
