Though the Nintendo Switch 2 is about two months away from launch, we may not be able to use all of its advertised features on day one.

At that price, the Nintendo Switch 2 will be the most expensive console Nintendo has ever released, by some margin. And even adjusted for inflation, and when considering the various bundle packages of previous Nintendo consoles, the Nintendo Switch 2 will still be the most expensive Nintendo console ever made!

Complaints were quickly raised about the Nintendo Switch 2's box art, but there's a good reason why the new elements are so hard to ignore.

Last week, Nintendo made the unprecedented move of delaying US Switch 2 preorders to "assess" the impact of Donald Trump's massive tariffs on the countries where the console is produced. That move has left many wondering if the company may be mulling a last-minute increase in the Switch 2's $450 asking price to account for those import taxes.
