PHOENIX -- When asked what message he thought it sent to Diamondbacks fans when the team signed free agent right-hander Corbin Burnes to a six-year, $210 million contract last month, managing general partner Ken Kendrick was short and to the point.

Last season the Diamondbacks led the major leagues in runs scored. Next season they could have one of the National League's top rotations.

Diamondbacks owner Ken Kendrick had no problem throwing shade at the Cubs after the team landed Corbin Burnes in free agency.

Messages appeared over parts of the Phoenix area early Tuesday afternoon, seemingly promoting a new show on Hulu.

PHOENIX — Even though it had been nearly three weeks since ace right-hander Corbin Burnes had agreed with the Arizona Diamondbacks on a $210 million, six-year deal, it was still a little stunning to see him in the team’s jersey at Chase Field on Wednesday.

Lovullo has two appearances coming up, starting Saturday when he is presented the National Italian American Foundation's Honoree Award. The ceremony takes place at the foundation's Regional Arizona Gala in Scottsdale.
