The group of roughly 60 reporters had crowded around the table Thursday long before Bill Belichick arrived to take questions in his first run through Atlantic Coast Conference preseason media days as North Carolina's football coach.

“It’s a pro program,” Belichick said. “Practice, training, food, schemes, terminology, it’s all a pro program. Not to the extent that we did it in the NFL — there will be fewer plays, fewer adjustments — but it will be along those lines.”

Bill Belichick is already facing high expectations for his first year as UNC head coach, and one of his counterparts made a bold prediction.

Lopez emerged as a dynamic dual-threat option for South Alabama last season. He ended the year with 2,559 yards and 18 touchdowns against just five interceptions while completing 66% of his passes. He also ran for 465 yards and seven touchdowns on 5.6 yards per carry.
