Charles Leclerc has snatched a surprise first pole position of the year for Ferrari at the Hungarian Grand Prix. He beat both McLarens.

Leclerc's Ferrari teammate Lewis Hamilton did not even qualify for the final session after being almost a second slower than Norris in Q2, while world champion Max Verstappen was also off the pace and is in the unusual situation of being a 66-1 outsider. George Russell was another late improver to take fourth on the grid.
