Two mosquito samples collected in Hyde Park and West Roxbury tested positive for West Nile Virus— the first positive samples in Boston this summer. Mosquitoes carry West Nile Virus, which spreads to humans through bites from infected mosquitoes. The risk of transmission is low, but on Tuesday the city urged residents to take precautions.

One person died following an early morning crash where the Sumner Tunnel meets Interstate 93 at Government Center. It's one of the incidents causing heavy traffic in Boston on Friday morning. Massachusetts State Police said that the crash in the tunnel occurred at 3:30 a.m.
