The War Memorial Park Authority in Muskogee has announced plans to relocate the USS Batfish to Port Muskogee Three Forks Harbor, but the multimillion-dollar project still requires approval from the Army Corps of Engineers.

The USS Batfish has been in Muskogee since 1973, but has been closed to visitors since it was damaged by flooding in 2019.

Moving the submarine to a new site at Three Forks Harbor will ensure its future, preventing it from most likely having to be permanently dismantled.

The War Memorial Park Authority is announcing plans to relocate the USS Batfish to Port Muskogee’s Three Forks Harbor at the proposed Oklahoma War Memorial and Museum. The park authority says the USS Batfish is at risk of being lost forever if it is not relocated to a new site due to flood hazards at the current location.
