The U.S. Drought Monitor is showing that dry conditions in Massachusetts keep getting worse. That's because the state really hasn't seen any significant rain since September, with precipitation totals in October being low.

Drought conditions have reached significant or critical levels in much of Massachusetts, state officials said.

More than half of Massachusetts is now experiencing severe drought conditions, according to the latest US Drought Monitor report. The western boundary has shifted from the Worcester Hills all the way to the Berkshires.
