Duolingo has been a prime choice for language learning for years, and it recently began branching out into teaching other things, too. Now, it wants to make you better at one specific skill—chess.

Duolingo’s chess course will take users, who can range from complete novices to those with a solid understanding of how to play, through its gamified exercises to become better game players.

Language learning platform Duolingo announced 148 new courses created with artificial intelligence will soon be available on the app in its first major use of generative AI.

Duolingo is a free app with ads, though you can pay for an ad-free super version. The app feels like a game, allowing you to befriend other users, earn rewards and compete in quests.
