The National Weather Service continued to monitor the chances for snow for Alabama next Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecasters were confident about the probability of dangerously cold temperatures across the state next week. The confidence level drops off significantly when it comes to the possibility of snow, however.

Early forecasts are calling for a snowstorm to hit the Deep South on Tuesday, bringing accumulations of an inch or more to the southern half of Alabama. Things could still change significantly, meteorologists warn,
