Roma’s attempt at returning to the Champions League has taken a hit after the announcement that Paulo Dybala will undergo left thigh surgery.

Paulo Dybala is set to miss the rest of the season after Roma announced on Thursday that the Argentina forward would go under the knife in the hope of resolving a thigh injury. Roma did not say for how long Dybala would be sidelined but with only nine matches left in the current Serie A campaign the 31-year-old is almost certain not to play again until next season.

Roma's attempt to return to the Champions League is in jeopardy as Paulo Dybala is set to undergo surgery on his left thigh, sidelining him for the rest of the season. The injury occurred during a recent victory over Cagliari.
