Jayson Tatum and the defending champion Boston Celtics got back on track Saturday with a comfortable 115-93 win over the New York Knicks in Game 3 of their second-round series. After blowing 20-point leads in Games 1 and 2, the Celtics took care of business to make the series 2-1 in favor of the Knicks.

Tatum is not only ahead of James, but he has also surpassed Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. The late NBA legend scored 2,889 points by the time he was at Tatum's age. Tatum narrowly surpassed him before his Game 2 performance wrapped up. The two were tied until Tatum hit his last three of the game.

The Boston Celtics needed a statement win in Game 3 against the New York Knicks to keep their chase for consecutive NBA titles alive. Boston lost the first two games at home, despite leading by as many as 20 points in both games.
