The San Francisco Giants could unlock their blockbuster trade addition with a "power slot" move the Boston Red Sox avoided.

The San Francisco Giants pulled off the most shocking trade of the Major League Baseball season on Sunday night, obtaining three-time All-Star slugger Rafael Devers from the Boston Red Sox as part of a five-player swap.

As he joins the Giants, Devers will be on pace to do something no Giants player has done since Barry Bonds did over 20 years ago in 2004 – hit for 30 home runs in a season. Devers enters Tuesday night's series opener against the Cleveland Guardians with 15 home runs, as the Giants get set to play game No. 73.
