When the Knicks parted ways with Tom Thibodeau, it seemed risky not to have a replacement in place. And they have reportedly made their first move as the Knicks are expected to formally request permission to speak to Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd.

Kidd and Rockets head coach Ime Udoka have both garnered interest from the Knicks, despite currently working for other teams. Stein previously reported that an interview request to the Rockets would “categorically ... be rejected” and that “a similar response would be expected from the Mavericks.”
