India hasn’t given the country’s oil refiners instructions to stop buying Russian oil, according to people familiar, days after US President Donald Trump blasted New Delhi for the energy purchases.

After Secretary of State Marco Rubio, another top aide to US President Donald Trump has criticized India for purchasing Russian oil, stating that the country is directly funding Russia’s war against Ukraine. The Trump administration continues to pressure nations to stop buying fuel from Russia.

Stephen Miller's criticism was some of the strongest yet by the administration about one of the United States' major partners.
