According to organizers, the rallies are also in honor of the legacy of the late Congressman, who often called on his supporters to make "good trouble, necessary trouble."

Thursday marked five years since the death of civil rights leader and Congressman John Lewis, which is why the movement was held that day. The Good Trouble Lives On organization said Lewis coined the phrase "Good Trouble" to describe coming together for peaceful action against injustice.
