Almost a year after Rooster Teeth, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Streaming & Interactive Entertainment, announced it was ceasing operations after 21 years, the digital content brand is staging a comeback.

Thanks to Burns’ acquisition, Rooster Teeth is set for a fresh start under Box Canyon Productions. Fans are eagerly awaiting how the company will evolve as it navigates its re-launch and works to bring back the beloved entertainment platform.

Rooster Teeth, the online media brand famous for shows like Red vs. Blue, RWBY, and various podcasts, is back--with original co-founder Burnie Burns at the helm.

Layoffs became a plague across Central Texas in 2024 as thousands lost jobs and companies closed their doors. One loss saw the end of an Austin-based entertainment company that had been delighting fans for more than two decades.

Almost a year after being shut down, Rooster Teeth is back thanks to someone close to the company. Today, it was revealed that Rooster Teeth founder Burnie Burns has purchased the Rooster Teeth brand and much of its remaining assets under their own Box Canyon Productions company.
