A 45-year-old Anaconda man allegedly shot several people at a local bar, launching an ongoing manhunt involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

A manhunt is underway after a deadly shooting inside a Montana business on Friday. Four people were killed at The Owl Bar in Anaconda, according to the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation. Police identified Michael Paul Brown, 45, as the suspect.

Four people are dead after a shooter opened fire at Anaconda’s Owl Bar at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 1, 2025, according to a press release from the Montana Department of Justice.
