The Atlanta Braves placed right-hander Grant Holmes on the 15-day injured list on Sunday, meaning all five of the club’s starters on Opening Day are on the injured list.

Fedde will step in as a much-needed starter who is ready to be deployed immediately. As it stands, Atlanta's starting pitchers currently on the injured list include Grant Holmes, Chris Sale, Spencer Schwellenbach, Reynaldo Lopez and AJ Smith-Shawver. All three of Holmes, Sale and Schwellenbach went down with injuries this month.

Holmes allowed four runs in four innings of work (81 pitches) and complained of elbow soreness on the pitch before the line drive that hit him in the fourth inning, according to Snitker. He was placed on the injured list on Sunday with right elbow inflammation, and the team recalled right-hander Daysbel Hernandez to take his spot.
