Beautiful day! Beautiful weather and fantastic views! We drove out to see the lighthouse - we came in from Virginia Beach, Virginia! But the lighthouse was CLOSED! this site says it is open 10:30 …Full review by Christina T

They charged $8 for parking then wanted $20 each to go in the lighthouse. Senior rate. Plus, there was a hideously ugly chain link fence around the lighthouse you couldn’t get close to it. Left immed…Full review by dalet768

Hi, yes you'll need a car to get there. We did a day trip to montauk from tarrytown. I don't remember seeing any public buses. But the drive is really pretty.
