in the spring, after some rains there can be mosquitos, however most of the fall, winter and summer there are not. There is a lot of wind at the coast (which keeps them away) and there isn't much standing water in which they can breed as the soil is very sandy which doesn't hold water well. have fun at the coast!
Showers are free if you are a registered camper. However, there is a $2 per person fee if you simply want to use the facilities to freshen up during your travels.
